initial website for the Lake Hopatcong Alliance. The information within this site documents issues related to the water
level management of Lake Hopatcong. The Lake Hopatcong Alliance has chosen to keep this website for the public to view,
as it documents issues related to water level management, and the water level crisis that our community faced in 2009.

Why and Alliance?
Lake Hopatcong currently lacks a voice that is solely focused on protecting Lake
Hopatcong’s health and well-being. The Lake Hopatcong Alliance is a volunteer-driven group that will
unite and give a voice to citizens, businesses, community organizations and anyone concerned about Lake Hopatcong to create
positive change for the Lake.
The mission of the Lake Hopatcong Alliance is to safeguard Lake Hopatcong water levels and water quality
to assure its future recreational, environmental, and economic value to our community and the people of the State of New Jersey.
Short Term Goals of the Lake Hopatcong Alliance:
- Educate citizens about current water management issues at Lake
Hopatcong.
- Allow
citizens organized ways to get involved and safeguard their interests in Lake Hopatcong.
- Bring about modification of the current Lake
Water Management Plan to safeguard Lake Hopatcong and assure safe water levels.
Long Term Goals of the Lake Hopatcong Alliance: Ensure that Lake Hopatcong’s
water management is policed effectively. Improve water quality, management and overall environment of Lake Hopatcong. Enhance travel, tourism and recreation at Lake
Hopatcong. Providing a central portal and forum to find out about Lake Hopatcong recreation (events, sports, wakeboarding, sailing,
fishing, tourist information, and more.) Assure Lake Hopatcong receives necessary assistance from the State of New Jersey.
